NHS Continuing Healthcare
Individuals who need long term care, their families and representatives are often given incorrect or misleading information which can lead them to decide not to explore the possibility that they may be eligible for NHS continuing healthcare funding. Figures show that three out of four elderly people who should receive NHS fully funded care have had to pay for their fees. In order to qualify the NHS assessment and decision making process consists of several stages:
- The NHS check list and screening stage
- The NHS continuing healthcare full assessment using a decision support tool.
- The recommendation made by the multi disciplinary team.
