Obituary – Robert Plumbly. A Dedicated Solicitor & Loyal Friend

It is with great sadness Spire Solicitors LLP announces the passing of former Senior Partner, Robert Plumbly, aged 71 years.

Robert Plumbly

Robert joined Spire Solicitors LLP as a young man in 1971 with Spire forerunner, Greenland Houchen & Co subsequently Greenland Houchen Pomeroy (GHP), focussing on a wide and successful practice area to include both Commercial & Residential Property, as well as Private Client work, including Wills, Tax, Probate & Trusts. Robert climbed quickly within GHP becoming Partner in 1976 and Senior Partner in 2000, before retiring in 2009. After a period as a Consultant, he ceased working in 2013, but was a welcome visitor to the offices and kept in touch with many of his former clients.

Colin Wright, Partner, Spire Solicitors LLP commented: “Robert dedicated his life to helping his clients. He was a shining example of a true family solicitor. He will be sorely missed by his family, his friends, his clients and his many acquaintances.”

On behalf of all who have known Robert, Spire Solicitors would like to congratulate him on a career well spent, as well as personally mourn the loss of a great friend and Solicitor, who will not only be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues, both former and current, but the Legal Profession as a whole.

Ad coelum, Robert. Ad coelum.
