Philip Lumb

Philip Lumb is a partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team and is based in the Norwich office. 

Philip deals with all litigation matters, but specialises in professional negligence, contentious probate, clinical negligence and personal injury claims.  He joined Spire Solicitors from another Norwich firm in November 2023.

Philip qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and has worked in solicitors’ firms in London and Norwich.  He has extensive experience in dispute resolution cases, and is known for his straightforward and honest advice to clients and for taking time to understand clients’ objectives and requirements when bringing or responding to claims. 

Philip deals with disputes in a pragmatic and expedient way wherever possible, analysing the merits and commercial imperatives of claims at an early stage.  He is experienced in negotiating settlement at mediation and in without prejudice meetings, but has also taken many claims to trial and has a solid network of reliable experts and counsel to assist in doing so.

Philip is happy to meet clients at any of the firm’s offices, and is also willing to travel to visit clients at their homes or offices.

In his spare time Philip helps to coach the boys’ U15 team at North Walsham Rugby Club and enjoys watching films and reading.
