Spire Solicitors LLP Strengthens Commitment to Future Legal Talent With Expanded Trainee Programme

Spire Solicitors LLP has continued to invest in the next generation of legal professionals, welcoming its largest cohort of trainee solicitors to date. The firm now has 10 trainees across its offices, reflecting sustained growth and a clear commitment to developing talent from within.

The trainee programme at Spire Solicitors is designed to give aspiring solicitors a strong foundation for their careers, combining hands‑on experience with structured learning and close support from experienced legal professionals. Trainees gain exposure to a range of practice areas, working directly with clients while developing the technical, commercial and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in practice.

Matthew Stolady, Head of HR at Spire Solicitors, said:
“Our trainees are a vital part of the future of the firm. We’re proud to have grown our trainee programme this year, as it reflects our belief in supporting people at the very start of their legal careers and giving them the tools and opportunities to thrive.”

This year’s cohort brings together individuals from a variety of backgrounds and academic routes into law, reinforcing the firm’s belief that nurturing potential and diversity of experience strengthens both its teams and the service provided to clients.

Spire Solicitors places a strong emphasis on mentoring, collaboration and career development, ensuring trainees feel supported while being encouraged to take ownership of their work and professional growth. Many of the firm’s qualified lawyers began their careers at Spire, underlining the importance of the programme as part of its long‑term strategy.

Miles Kingston highlighted the flexibility of the programme, noting:
“Spire have been very accommodating and flexible with my training. I have been able to choose my seats, meaning I can train according to my interests and strengths.”

For Mollie Dring, the breadth of experience has been key to her development:
“During my training contract, I’ve developed a lot both personally and professionally through exposure to different practice areas, clients, and ways of working. I’ve also had significant client contact, which has really helped build my confidence and communication skills. I’ve always found the members to be approachable and down-to-earth.”

Similarly, Robert Ackerman emphasised the hands-on nature of the programme:
“I feel that I have learned a great deal in the time that I have been at Spire so far. The members take a very hands-on approach, allowing trainees to get stuck into files from the outset. I would recommend the Spire training programme to anyone looking to take the first steps in their legal career.”

Mir Manwaring also spoke positively about the supportive environment:
“My experience as a trainee at Spire has been extremely positive. I’ve been given responsibility early on, which has allowed me to develop both confidence and independence in my work. Everyone across the firm is approachable, supportive, and generous with their time, which creates a great learning environment. I’ve felt genuinely encouraged in my development and valued as part of the team.”

As Spire Solicitors continues to grow, the firm remains committed to fostering talent, investing in training, and building a strong pipeline of future solicitors who share its values and commitment to client care.

The trainee programme is currently closed but will reopen to new applicants in early 2027.
